The Northaven Trail is a nine-mile paved trail running through North Dallas.
Healthy eating and exercise go hand-in-hand, and the combination is on the minds of many at the start of a new year. Here in Preston Hollow, a pair of complementary neighborhood organizations have teamed up to host events that will bring together good food and movement, plus wellness-centered talks from local physicians.
Walk and Eat with a Doc represents a monthly series co-hosted by the Semones Family YMCA (also known as Town North) and Friends of the Northaven Trail. Free and open to the public, each Saturday morning event begins with a health discussion and plant-based food tasting at the YMCA at 4332 Northaven Road. Thereafter, attendees are invited to continue group and individual conversations during a self-paced walk on the Northaven Trail.
Dr. Riteesha Reddy will host on Saturday, February 7, starting at 8:30 a.m. She is board certified in rheumatology and lifestyle medicine, with additional fellowship training in integrative medicine. Hosting on March 7, Dr. Bill Christensen is board certified in internal medicine with a special interest in diagnosis and preventive medicine. Additional specialties represented in coming months will include pediatrics and vascular surgery.
Event attendees will also receive a free, all-day pass to the Semones Family YMCA. For a full schedule and additional details, visit northaventrail.org/events.
