Do you know a kid who loves books, or one who may benefit from an incentive to keep reading over the break? In her latest newsletter, Texas’ 24th Congressional District Representative, Beth Van Duyne, announces that her annual summer reading challenge is open for registration. “Beth’s Bookworms” is designed to encourage local students to read throughout the summer, and provides an opportunity to be recognized for their achievement.
Via Congresswoman Van Duyne:
“Participating students are asked to read and log at least five books and track their progress towards this goal using the Book Log. Students who meet the five books goal will be invited, with their families, to a special celebration with Congresswoman Van Duyne to be recognized for their achievement. Students will have the opportunity to share their favorite book that they read over the summer.”
The 24th District includes much of Preston Hollow and surrounding areas; this program is open to public, private, and home-schooled students in kindergarten through 8th grades. Registration is now open and the program extends through August 31, 2026.
