A disabled Dallas Sanitation truck struck a house located in the 8500 block of Thunderbird Lane early Friday, June 26.
According to a special announcement from the office of Council Member Kathy Stewart, the truck was being towed by a third-party towing company when it became detached from the tow vehicle, rolled away and struck the house.
Dallas Fire-Rescue crews responded to the scene, assessed the situation and confirmed there were no injuries. A structural assessment is underway, and the investigation is ongoing.
The extent of the damage to the home has not been released, and officials have not provided additional details. Stewart said she was grateful no one was injured and that her office will continue monitoring the situation while remaining in communication with city staff and the affected residents as more information becomes available.
