The Cliff Manor implosion is now expected for the fall.
Dallas Housing Authority (DHA) is currently undertaking the demolition of the Fort Worth Avenue property. In an April 2026 Oak Cliff Advocate article, a spokesperson for DHA stated that there was “an anticipated implosion happening this summer.”
The demolition is now expected for November 2026 and is being managed by Coverall Management & Associates Inc., according to the DHA spokesperson.
A specific date in November is not set at this time, but as the demolition date gets closer, Coverall Management will coordinate disseminating logistics and safety precautions with neighbors about the restrictions of the impact zone, dust and noise, plus any potential street closures.
The Oak Cliff Advocate previously reported that the DHA was expected to receive federal HUD approval and city environmental review for demolition in spring 2025.
According to the draft of the 2026 Public Housing Agency (PHA) Plan, DHA has submitted a request to the Special Applications Center (SAC) for approval to demolish the building and “replace (it) with senior housing more suitable to the neighborhood and current zoning.”
Additionally, a request for disposition approval of a long-term ground lease will be submitted for the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit redevelopment project, along with a designated housing plan for seniors also submitted for the site.
A public hearing will take place for DHA residents and the public to share comments regarding the 2026 PHA plan, which covers eight other sites in addition to Cliff Manor, before the submission of the plans to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. The hearing is scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 4 at noon in the DHA Services HQ Building located at 3939 N. Hampton Road.
