The Lake Highlands Public Improvement District’s signature event, Community & Cops, will take place this Saturday, Aug. 29, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at The Garrison apartments.

The annual event brings Lake Highlands residents together with local law enforcement and community organizations for an afternoon focused on building relationships and connecting residents with local resources.

Attendees will have the chance to meet and greet with representatives from the Lake Highlands Public Improvement District and North Lake Highlands Public Improvement District, Northeast Dallas Police Department officers, the Community Prosecution team, Project Safe Neighborhoods team and the Office of Emergency Management.

In addition to meeting with community representatives, guests can enjoy food and drink stands, Kona Ice, resources from Navy Federal Credit Union and PNC Bank, City of Dallas resources, a community court game, a balloon artist and other free activities.

The event will also give residents an opportunity to ask questions, learn more about resources available in the community and meet some of the people who work to serve the Lake Highlands area.

Community & Cops is open to the public and provides an opportunity for residents of all ages to connect with their neighbors and local organizations.
