As if there wasn’t enough going on in the world, concrete was falling onto the northbound lanes of US-75 at the Lovers Lane overpass on the morning of Wednesday, Sept. 23.

A Texas Department of Transportation representative told the Lakewood/East Dallas Advocate that the bridge was evaluated when crews were dispatched this week.

“It was determined a vehicle struck the wall and railing on the northbound frontage road at the U-turn area at Lovers Lane,” TxDOT Northeast Texas Section Director Tony Hartzel said in an email. “A small portion of the wall was damaged.”

None of the vehicles on the highway were reportedly hit by concrete, according to a FOX 4 report, and police closed the right lane at the time in response. 

Hartzel said, “No closures or traffic impacts are expected as a result of the incident.”
