Lake Highlands Village, a new gated townhome community, is coming to our neighborhood in Summer 2027.

Located at 9090 Skillman Street, the proposed community will include 85 townhomes, with Mattamy Homes assisting as the exclusive builder. The future model home address is expected to be located on Magnolia Lake Drive, according to Dan Gezella, vice president of sales & marketing for Mattamy Homes’ Dallas Division.

“The community is being developed on a site of just over 5.5 acres,” Gezella said. “The property was previously occupied by a two-story commercial plaza that was demolished in late 2021, early 2022.”

According to Gezella, the site has since been rezoned for residential use and was acquired by Mattamy Homes on Nov. 14, 2025.

Residents of Lake Highlands Village will be able to enjoy amenities designed for everyday living. As stated by a Mattamy Homes press release, the community will include a central park, dog park, walking trails, green spaces, and more and sits adjacent to approximately 170,000 square feet of nearby retail and restaurants.

Gezella said the village is currently expected to offer at least three floorplans, with homes ranging from approximately 1,800 to 2,100 square feet in a three-story format with private garages. With the community not expected to begin sales until 2027, floorplan designs have not been finalized yet.

“Lake Highlands is one of Dallas’ most beloved neighborhoods because it offers that suburbia-inside-the-city feel…,” John Kuntz, president of Mattamy Homes’ Dallas Division, said in a press release. “With Lake Highlands Village, we’re bringing a gated townhome community to a location that is already vibrant and connected.”

Lake Highlands Village is expected to launch sales in June 2027, with closings anticipated as early as September 2027.
