Breakthrough T1D North Texas Area announced Lindsay Pittard as its new territory executive director Oct. 6.
In the role, Pittard will serve the organization’s Dallas, Fort Worth and Oklahoma chapters, including its North Texas operations based near Walnut Hill Lane and Central Expressway.
Pittard has more than 20 years of nonprofit and community leadership experience. She previously served as vice president of operations and strategy for the Women’s Business Council – Southwest, where she provided executive oversight across certifications, business development, partnerships, events, programs and communications, according to a recent press release.
Pittard also has leadership experience with ALSAC/St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and United Way of Metropolitan Dallas, where she worked in peer-to-peer fundraising and corporate engagement. She also helped raise more than $1 million for the Minden St. Jude Auction, according to the press release.
“I’m stepping into this role with a lot of gratitude for where I’ve been and a tremendous amount of excitement for what’s ahead,” Pittard said in a statement. “There is so much opportunity to expand the impact of Breakthrough T1D across North Texas and Oklahoma.”
Breakthrough T1D was founded in 1970 as the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation. In 2024, the organization was rebranded as Breakthrough T1D to reflect its commitment to improving the lives of children and adults living with type 1 diabetes.
“What drew me to Breakthrough T1D is the opportunity to lead with both purpose and impact,” Pittard said in a statement. “The mission is incredibly powerful, and I’m excited to help bring more people, companies and resources together to advance the fight against type 1 diabetes.”
A graduate of Louisiana State University and longtime Dallas resident, Pittard lives with her husband, Andrew, and their two children, Jackson and Charlotte, along with their 2-year-old dog, Winston.
