The Dallas Foundation has awarded nearly 100 grants totaling more than $2.6 million to local nonprofits.

Established as the first community foundation in the state, The Dallas Foundation aims to bring people, ideas, and investments together in the Greater Dallas area to help individuals and families reach their full potential.

These grants will provide support for family economic stability, healthcare access, growth of parks and recreation, and strengthen mental and emotional health, according to an Oct. 5 announcement from the foundation.

“Behind these grants are neighbors working toward greater stability and nonprofits helping make that possible,” said Vickie Allen, Chief Impact Officer of The Dallas Foundation, in the news release. “Our nonprofit partners understand the challenges families face and bring the expertise and relationships needed to respond. Thanks to our donors’ generosity, these grants will help more of our neighbors put food on the table, get the care they need, and access welcoming places to gather and play.”

Several Oak Cliff organizations received grants, including the Stevens Park Estates Neighborhood Association, which received funding for a new walking trail at Annie L. Stevens Park.
