Greenville Avenue-born Rusty Taco is expanding to the Lakewood Theater.
Rusty Taco is expected to replace DoubleDave’s Pizzaworks, according to The Dallas Morning News. The menu will be smaller but will at least include the bestselling tacos and queso.
Founded in 2010 by the late Rusty Fenton, the taco joint (which once changed its name to “R Taco” in the mid-2010s) still stands in its original location in Upper Greenville. Now, there are multiple locations across the country.
Rusty Taco in Lakewood may open as soon as later this year or early 2027, according to The Dallas Morning News.
