The holiday season is arriving early at Inwood Village.

Residents can enjoy an afternoon of festive activities, local shopping, live entertainment and interactive art during the shopping center’s first-ever Village Stroll on Saturday, Nov. 7. From 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Mallory Baureis, director of L&B Realty Advisors, the property management company for Inwood Village, said the event was created to begin the holiday season while giving shoppers a chance to visit businesses they might not have been able to visit before.

“We really wanted to find a way to support our tenants at the shopping center and create that annual neighborhood tradition,” Baureis said.

Throughout the afternoon, guests can enjoy live music from We Them Grays. Local artist Jan Riggins will also create a large-scale 3D sidewalk art installation outside the historic Inwood Theatre.

A major part of the event is Camp Crafty’s complimentary pop-up craft activities. Camp Crafty will have a Tumbler Painting Workshop at Inwood Village’s breezeway, product bedazzling at Ulta and block-print tea towel decorating at Rise No. 1.

“Camp Crafty has never seen an investment like this before from a property like Inwood Village,” Lilly Watson, founder of Camp Crafty said. “We piloted [this event] with just one craft in the spring, and the guests could not believe that [it] was free because it was such a nice value to them and a nice day.”

Watson said that the partnership is especially meaningful to her because she used to work for a tenant at Inwood Village before founding Camp Crafty.

The event will also feature a $1,500 giveaway. Guests can enter by registering through Eventbrite. Registration is not required for the event and guests do not have to be present to win.

As the first year of the event, Baureis said she hopes Village Stroll will become an annual neighborhood tradition.

“This is our first big event, and we really want to give back to the neighborhood and the tenants that are incredible,” Baureis said. “We want to create this tradition that the neighborhood looks forward to every single year, and I think it’s important to really get off on the right foot.”
