A man was rescued by Dallas Fire-Rescue swift-water boat crews after becoming stranded in a creek culvert Thursday evening, Oct. 1, near 6847 Abrams Rd., according to a Dallas City Council District 10 Facebook post.

DFR crews were dispatched to the area at approximately 6:32 p.m. and successfully removed the man from the water around 7:18 p.m. He was evaluated at the scene and was not transported to a hospital, District 10 Councilwoman Kathy Stewart wrote in her Facebook post.

“We are grateful to the first responders who acted quickly,” Stewart said. “Please use extra caution around creeks, drainage areas and other waterways, especially following wet weather.”
