Yes, Beyoncé and Jay-Z both have connections to Texas. Beyoncé grew up in Houston and references her hometown in many songs. They’ve both individually and as a duo headlined Texas shows. Jay-Z will make his return to Dallas for his upcoming 4:44 Tour on Tuesday, Nov. 7.

Any spotting of music’s royalty is usually captured by loads of paparazzi. However, back in July of 2013 after Bey’s show, one picture got a lot of attention for Mesa in Oak Cliff.

According to Dallas Observer, “They dined on lobster enchiladas, mole enchiladas, chicken mole and ceviche. They sipped on spicy margaritas and Mexican martinis.”

Besides the two superstars, the only other person there was their bodyguard. He told owner Raul Reyes that “the carne asada was the best he ever had,” according to CultureMap.

And why Mesa?

Well, Reyes told the Observer, that the restaurant was a recommendation from a friend. Reyes said, “His name is Robert, but we don’t know who he is.”

Where will they feast next when Jay drops in? Will the whole Carter clan be there? We’ll let you know come November.
