As the first therapeutic horsemanship center in Texas, Equest has served individuals with physical, cognitive, sensory, and learning disabilities, as well as veterans with adjustment challenges, for over forty years. The nonprofit currently works with over 2,700 clients annually through the dedication of its staff, Board of Directors, and over 800 volunteers. All play an integral role in furthering its mission “to enhance the quality of life for children and adults with diverse needs by partnering with horses to bring hope and healing through equine assisted activities and therapies.”

Equest’s “Mini Ambassadors” visit libraries, schools, community events, and local VA hospitals.

Equest has announced its 2026 Board of Directors, which includes several Preston Hollow neighbors: Mary LeDonne Bank, Brandi Garrett, Natalie LaDriere, Elissa McClue, Meredith McKay, and Kay Weeks. They join a board comprising 22 members in total, headed by Brooke Bailey, Chairman, and Megan Martin, Vice Chairman.

“These leaders bring not only impressive professional expertise, but also a deep commitment to service and community impact,” says Eric Lindh, CEO of Equest.

With the 2026 board in place, Equest shares details and opens ticket sales in advance of its annual Blue Ribbon Gala. Set for Saturday, April 25, 2026, at Gilley’s Dallas South Side Ballroom, this year marks the signature fundraiser’s 45th anniversary. A Kentucky Derby-style “Run for the Roses” theme has been selected for the occasion.
