PopUp Bagels makes its Texas debut at Inwood Village here in Dallas on Friday, April 24. The growing chain, founded in Connecticut and now operating 30 locations across the country, offers a “no frills” menu of plain and flavored bagels sold by the bag or box. Cream cheese also comes plain or flavored, on the side, with smoked salmon available in two- or four-ounce packets. New visitors should take note of the brand’s reputation for drawing long lines.

Another fast-expanding chain, Snarf’s Sandwiches, projects a June opening in the Market at Preston Forest shopping center next to Fat Straws Boba. The Boulder-born brand currently operates four shops in the Metroplex, with a total of more than 50 locations across Texas, Colorado, and Missouri. Snarf’s extensive menu includes dozens of made-to-order sandwiches, from Reubens to cheesesteaks to eggplant parmesan. Entree and side salads, soups by the cup, and bagged chips are also available, as well as a selection of “Snarflettes” sandwiches for kids.
