In honor of the FIFA World Cup coming to Dallas, the communities of the Jefferson Boulevard and the Bishop Arts District are coming together to share Oak Cliff on Wednesday, June 24 from 6-10 p.m.
The Copa de Cliff Fest invites the world to discover what Oak Cliff has always been about through a collaboration between Visit Dallas and neighborhood organizers Aaron Glover, Avery-Jai Andrews and Carina Arellano, showcasing dining, retail, history, cultural experiences and more.
The event has been in the works since spring 2025, when the conversation started on how to get world travelers to experience neighborhoods across Dallas. As a longtime soccer fan, Glover was quickly on board as festival coordinator.
“We decided we wanted to activate the (Oak Cliff) neighborhood because there’s this unique blend of culture that happens in the Bishop Arts area and along Jefferson,” he said.
Over the last year, organizers met monthly to every other week to coordinate the organizations, businesses and individuals involved in the activation. It was Arellano that came up with the Copa de Cliff name as a play on the World Cup.
The Copa de Cliff Fest run will consist of over 50 participating businesses to showcase the two areas that emerge in North Oak Cliff.
“They’re so distinct in kind of the culture that has emerged in both of those places, but they sit right next to each other and they kind of inform each other in certain ways,” Glover said.
Some of the cultural highlights of the event will include bringing out the car clubs Dallas Lowriders and Volks Family, live music performances, dancing and a screening of the Mexico vs. Czechia at the Texas Theatre. Several dining concepts and retailers will be open with specials and deals for the event as well.
“It’s really going to be sort of like business as usual, but the most festive version of business as usual,” Glover said.
