Looking for an indoor activity this Saturday? Art on Main is hosting its Summer Open Studios. This free community event will take place on Saturday, June 27 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Visitors will have the opportunity to tour artist studios, meet working artists, view original artwork and participate in special activities throughout the day. In addition, artwork will be available to purchase throughout the event, according to a press release from Art on Main.
Two special exhibitions are set to be showcased at the event. Kathy Krismer’s solo exhibition is on view, and a closing reception with Krismer will be held from noon to 2 p.m. Krismer’s wearable art pieces from the Beyond the Canvas collection is also available for guests to view.
In addition, the exhibit MODIFIED: An Altered Art Exhibit presented by the SLANT Artist Collective will be available. MODIFIED is slated to feature mixed-media works by Rita Barnard, Sheila Cunningham, Jacque Forsher, Karen Jacobi, Laurie Mahoney, Suzi Swaim and VET. The exhibition’s reception will take place from 3-5 p.m.
Other available activities will include, live pottery demonstrations and a kiln christening by Katrina Rasmussen, live portrait demonstrations by Pam-ela Harrelson and a summer community canvas, which every visitor can contribute to.
