Has the appeal of summer break started wearing off after consecutive days of triple-digit temperatures? If so, the Bath House Cultural Center has two free events this weekend that offer a creative escape from the summer heat.
Poets’ Prom 2026: In Other Words
The Bath House Cultural Center will host its fourth annual Poets’ Prom, In Other Words, on Saturday, July 25, from 8 to 11 p.m.
Guests can enjoy an evening of music, poetry and community while listening to DJ King Shakur. The event will also feature a special guest poet, and light hors d’oeuvres will be served.
The event is free to attend, though registration is encouraged. It’s an ideal outing for poetry lovers or anyone looking for a relaxing evening overlooking White Rock Lake.
In Other Words: The Poetry Workshop
Earlier that day, storyteller and creative educator Hailee Dyer will lead In Other Words: The Poetry Workshop from 1 to 3 p.m.
Designed for beginner and intermediate writers, the free workshop will guide participants through poetry exercises focused on discovering their authentic voice, self-expression and creativity.
Space is limited, and advance registration is required.
