Dallas Wings guard Azzi Fudd, in partnership with Cash App and Project Backboard, unveiled a renovated basketball court in Casa Linda Park.
In a TikTok video, Fudd participated in the social media trend where was asked, “What’s your vision for this room?” in reference to the court, and she responded, “To fill it.” The post showed off the court, which is now decked out in vibrantly-colored florals, being used by young athletes.
“Community means everything to me” the WNBA player told The Dallas Morning News. “Hopefully, I’m here to stay. So I want to give back. I want to pour into this place and also show young girls what’s possible. Give them a place where they can feel comfortable and come here to play with their friends and get better and learn and grow as people, as players.”
Following a ribbon cutting, Fudd reportedly joined girls in shooting hoops.
The Casa Linda basketball court was previously upgraded through 2017 City bond program funds.
