A Lake Highlands business will soon appear on the big screen.
Scenes from the independent psychological thriller Somebody’s Watching Me, written and produced by Sonja Stelly, were filmed at Yoga Art Music (YAM Dallas) in Lake Highlands.
According to Jennifer Foster, co-owner of YAM Dallas, the yoga and creative arts space served as the backdrop for several scenes in the film. Additional overnight filming for some of the movie’s stalking sequences took place around the surrounding Lakeridge Village Shopping Center, and nearby restaurant Goldie’s was also featured in a few scenes.
“Shooting Somebody’s Watching Me in Lake Highlands was exactly what we needed to bring this story to life,” Stelly says. “Goldie’s and Yoga Art Music were so generous to allow us to use their spaces to shoot some of our most important scenes. The Lakeridge Village Shopping Center provided the perfect aesthetic for this film.”
Foster says she was excited to see YAM Dallas help bring the film to life.
“Hearing Sonja describe YAM as one of the places that helped bring Somebody’s Watching Me to life is incredibly meaningful to us,” Foster says. “From the beginning, our vision for YAM has been to create a space where artists, musicians, filmmakers, and our community can bring creative ideas to life.”

The film follows Bree Thomas, a grieving woman whose chance at love quickly turns into a nightmare when she realizes someone is watching her every move. As fear and paranoia consume her, she must uncover the identity of her stalker before she loses her sanity.
Somebody’s Watching Me explores themes of grief, trust, obsession and resilience while delivering suspenseful twists that keep audiences guessing until the end.
The film premieres Saturday, Aug. 8, at LOOK Dine-In Cinemas Arlington from 5:30 to 8 p.m. The event will include photo opportunities and a Q&A with Stelly and members of the cast.
