With the 2026-27 school year rapidly approaching, the Midtown Improvement District is hosting its annual Back to School Fair at the Vickery Park Branch Library on Saturday, Aug. 1.
The event will help families prepare for the new school year with safety tips from the Dallas Police Department and Midtown Blues. Families can also enter raffles for prizes and enjoy free giveaways.
Guests can expect free food from Back Country BBQ and Monarch Fruteria, along with face painting, balloon art, treats and music from a live DJ.
Half Price Books has donated books that will be given away to students and families, while Costco has donated backpacks for giveaways.
The fair will also feature an interactive station hosted by Dallas-area robotics students, giving children an opportunity to learn about robotics and science.
The event is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
