According to District 13’s newsletter, Oncor will treat four areas in Vickery Meadow. The work will take place within areas bounded by Park Lane, Twin Hills Avenue, Fair Oaks Avenue, Eastridge Drive, Greenville Avenue, Northwest Highway, Skillman Street and Ridgecrest Road.
Oncor’s website states that vegetation trimming is limited to areas near high-voltage power lines between utility poles. While most work occurs around high-voltage lines, crews may also trim vegetation near lower secondary voltage lines beneath transformers.
The utility will also evaluate potentially dead, diseased or hazardous trees for possible removal. In addition, crews will remove brush and vegetation around the base of certain utility poles to reduce ground-level fuels, including dry grasses, shrubs and other plants.
Residents within the scheduled work areas will receive advance notice before pruning begins. Door hangers will include contact information for Oncor’s Vegetation Management team.
Customers with questions about the planned work can contact Oncor’s Customer Contact Center at 888-313-4747.
