The Lake Highlands-based Texas Women’s Foundation (TXWF) has named Renda Mathew its next chair-elect, the nonprofit announced Monday.
Currently, Mathew serves as Truist’s Dallas market president, a role she has held for the past five years. She will serve a two-year term as chair-elect from July 1, 2027, through June 30, 2029, succeeding current Board Chair Cris Zertuche Wong, who will continue leading the board through June 30, 2027.
As chair-elect, Mathew will serve on the foundation’s executive committee alongside Wong, President and CEO Karen Hughes White and five other board members.
“I’m honored to serve as board chair-elect during such a pivotal time for Texas women, their families and their futures, and I look forward to working alongside the Foundation’s incredible board and staff,” Mathew said in a news release.
The foundation also announced three new members of its board of directors: Laura Baldwin, executive vice president of WBR Partners; Ashleigh Everett, senior vice president and general counsel at Hunt Oil Company; and Julie Knecht, chief financial officer of Texas Instruments.
Hughes White said the board will help guide the foundation’s new three-year strategic plan, which focuses on research, grantmaking, advocacy, education, leadership training and workforce development.
