Inside Over Under, The Village Dallas’ neighborhood sports bar

A chorus of cheers erupts as another score flashes across the televisions lining the walls. Beneath the strings of warm lights and rows of team flags, servers deliver sizzling pizzas, baskets of wings and ice-cold beverages to tables where conversations pause and eyes glue to TV screens. Whether it’s football season, a Saturday night out or trivia night, Over Under buzzes with energy.

That atmosphere is exactly what Over Under aims to create.

Since opening in 2019 in the heart of The Village Dallas, the sports bar has become more than a place to watch the game. Residents stop in after work, sports leagues gather after a game and neighbors linger over dinner. Led by Executive Chef Austin Wright alongside The Village and Meridian Executive Chef Eduardo Osorio, the restaurant pairs scratch-made food with community-focused events.

When Dallas prepared to welcome FIFA World Cup visitors, Over Under introduced a Match Day Passport promotion designed to celebrate the tournament. From June 12 to July 19, guests collected stamps by ordering internationally inspired food and drink specials representing the 12 participating countries. Completed passports earned entries into drawings for The Village experiences, including a staycation at The Drake Hotel and a pool cabana package. 

“Over Under filled the particular niche that The Village needed,” says Brandy Spence, vice president of food and beverage operations at The Village. “We wanted it to be a community hub where people could gather for almost anything, and it really has become that.”

The menu leans into familiar bar classics while elevating them with scratch-made ingredients. Guests can dig into wings (half dozen for $9 or a dozen for $12), burgers ($16), loaded nachos ($14), soft pretzels ($8), sandwiches ($15-$16) and house-made pizzas ($16-$19).

Every Thursday, the restaurant’s pizza becomes the focus during its All You Can Eat Pizza night. Adults can eat unlimited pizzas for $15, while children 12 and younger can eat for $8. Guests can choose from margherita, meat lovers, pepperoni, BBQ chicken, shroomin’ (mushroom pizza) and a Chef Austin monthly special. Each pizza begins with dough prepared daily by The Village’s bakery.

“I love the pizza, I would put our pizza up against anybody,” Spence says.

The beverage menu leans into the food menu’s approachable style. House cocktails and craft beers are popular options, while wines are available by the glass for $12. Guests looking to hang out after work can enjoy the happy hour every weekday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
