Manpuku closed its Lowest Greenville location last month.
“Today marks our final day of business,” reads a July 20 post on the Japanese barbeque restaurant’s website. “Thank you sincerely for your support over the past five years. Our entire team is deeply grateful.”
Manpuku fans were directed to its sister restaurant Takumi Hachi near Addison as well as Manpuku locations in California and Japan (you know, if you’re ever in those neighborhoods). But wait — there’s still hope for diners in our city.
“We hope to welcome you again in the future at a new location in Dallas,” the restaurant’s post concludes. “When that day comes, we would be honored to see you again. Thank you truly for the past five years. We look forward to the day we can meet again.”
In other restaurant news, Dallas Observer recently reported that Goodsurf Beach Club in Deep Ellum has closed, never reopening after finishing its surfing season last fall. (Yeah, we missed that one, too.) Google has declared Goodsurf as “permanently closed,” and the most recent post on its Instagram is from last November.

The last time we wrote about Goodsurf, which was co-founded by Lakewood neighbor Zach Shor, was covering its relaunch in April 2025. It originally opened in 2024.
