A drive-by shooting injured three people around 1 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 23 near the sports bar Off The Cuff at Elm Street and Malcolm X Boulevard in Deep Ellum.
Police in the area heard gunshots and saw a vehicle fleeing the scene. Demond Hardy, 23, was arrested in connection with the crime and is facing four aggravated assault charges, according to multiple news outlets and Dallas County jail records. His total bond amount is currently $400,000. Hardy called 911 and reported the incident before being arrested on Monticello Avenue between Greenville Avenue and Skillman Street. An AK-style rifle was found in his vehicle. There are also reports that the gun was fired accidentally and Hardy was in an accident around this time.
The victims are reportedly in stable condition.
