Dallas ISD high schools have earned four of the top ten spots in the U.S. News & World Report’s 2026-2027 Best High School Rankings.

The study examines nearly 18,000 nationally-ranked schools on six factors, including college readiness, college curriculum breadth, state assessment proficiency, state assessment performance, underserved student performance and graduation rates.

The School for the Talented and Gifted at Yvonne A. Ewell Townview Center ranked No. 1 in Texas and eighth nationally in the study. Five other Dallas ISD campuses joined six Yvonne A. Townview Center schools in the top 50 in Texas. 

Here are the Dallas ISD schools that were ranked in the top 50 in Texas:

  • No. 1: School for the Talented and Gifted at Yvonne A. Ewell Townview Center
  • No. 4: School of Science and Engineering at Yvonne A. Ewell Townview Center
  • No. 6: Irma Lerma Rangel Young Women’s Leadership School
  • No. 7: Judge Barefoot Sanders Law Magnet at Yvonne A. Ewell Townview Center
  • No. 13: Trinidad “Trini” Garza Early College High School at Mountain View
  • No. 20: School of Health Professions at Yvonne A. Ewell Townview Center
  • No. 29: Barack Obama Male Leadership Academy
  • No. 30: Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts
  • No. 35: Marvin E. Robinson School of Business and Management at Yvonne A. Ewell Townview Center
  • No. 47: Rosie Sorrells Education and Social Services at Yvonne A. Ewell Townview Center
