Volunteers of America Texas (VOA Texas) will host an informational session about its Home Improvement & Preservation Program on Thursday, Sept. 10, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Forest Green Branch Library.

The program, called the Major Systems Repair Program (MSRP), provides qualified low- and moderate-income homeowners with assistance through a forgivable loan of up to $24,000 for necessary home repairs.

Eligible repairs include:

  • Major systems: HVAC, electrical and plumbing repairs or replacements
  • Accessibility repairs
  • Roofing

To qualify, residents must own and live in a home located in the City of Dallas, have homeowners insurance and be current on their mortgage and property taxes. Household income must be below 80% of the area median income (AMI), and applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents.

Applications will be accepted from Oct. 5 through Oct. 16. No applications can be submitted before Oct. 5.
