National Night Out is Tuesday, Oct. 6. Here are three events happening around our neighborhood.

The Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) Police Department will host its annual event from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Illinois Station on DART’s Blue Line, located at 2111 South Corinth St. Road.

The public is invited to meet DART police, fare enforcement officers, staff and neighbors at the parking lot of the police headquarters for food, beverages, music, health and wellness literature and information on crime prevention and safety, according to a press release.

District 4 City Council member Maxie Johnson will host National Night Out at Kiest Park, also from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., with free food, kids’ activities, community resources and the opportunity to meet officers. There will also be live performances by South Oak Cliff High School’s Nu Soul of the South Marching Band and the Big “D” Band from the Yvonne A. Ewell Townview Magnet Center.

National Night Out at Halperin Park will take place from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. with food, music and community activities for the family to build connections between neighbors, local organizations, and first responders.
