The long-awaited Terraces at the Drey officially opened Oct. 6, marking a new expansion to The Village Dallas’ Drey Hotel.

The new hotel brings 46 additional rooms and suites to The Village’s hospitality offerings. Reimagined through the repurposing of former office building space, the new hotel features 11-foot ceilings, seven terrace suites, two signature corner suites, layered greenery, bespoke furniture and an oak canopy built for gatherings of up to 100 people, according to a recent press release.

“Our intention for Terraces at the Drey is to add another layer to what already makes The Village special; a sense of connection between where people stay, where they live, and how they experience a neighborhood,” Gabriella Monte, vice president of hotel and retail operations at The Village Dallas, said in a recent statement. “The original Drey introduced the idea of a hotel that feels embedded in The Village rather than separate from it, and Terraces at the Drey takes that a step further.”

Designed in partnership with James Carry Design Studio and Ink + Oro, Terraces at the Drey incorporates themes from the natural landscape and layered feel of The Village with wood-forward materials, extensive greenery, natural lighting, contemporary backdrops, glass sculpture installations and trellis details, the press release stated.

Monte said the expansion created 20 new jobs. Additionally, Terraces at the Drey will be home to Kobako, which Monte said is a new omakase restaurant slated to open in 2027 in the lobby of Terraces at the Drey. The restaurant’s name translates to “small box,” and it will offer 14 seats at its omakase counter.

“We hope [Terraces at the Drey] brings a new energy to the surrounding neighborhood by giving visitors another reason to discover Dallas,” Monte said in the statement. “The goal is for Terraces at the Drey to feel less like an addition to a hotel, and more like an extension of the neighborhood itself.”
