Partners Card, The Family Place’s signature fundraiser supporting survivors of domestic violence, kicked off Friday, Oct. 23 and runs through Nov. 1.
The 10-day shopping and dining event offers cardholders discounts at hundreds of North Texas retailers, including Bird’s Bookstore, Clotheshorse Anonymous and North Haven Gardens in our neighborhood (to name a few) and participating restaurants while raising funds for survivors of family violence.
Each $100 card that is purchased saves cardholders 20% at retailers and 10% at restaurants. More importantly, each Partners Card funds one night of shelter for a survivor of family violence.
“[The Family Place] serves approximately 40,000 women, children and men each year, for free, in English and Spanish,” Tiffany Tate, CEO of the Family Place said. “A night of shelter is the foundation for everything else we do: emergency shelter, counseling, access to legal services, education and comprehensive support to help survivors rebuild their lives and break the cycle of violence.”
In its 34th year, Partners Card aims to sell 20,000 cards. The fundraiser provided funding for more than 16,100 nights of shelter in 2025.
According to Tate, domestic violence occurs in every ZIP code in the Dallas area and about one in three Texans will experience violence in their lifetime.
Residents who cannot shop during the 10-day event can support The Family Place by volunteering, donating new or gently used items, making a monetary donation or signing up as community sellers to promote Partners Card.
