It’s almost that time of the year again for poetry enthusiasts across Dallas.
The City of Dallas’ Office of Arts and Culture is gearing up for the second year of its Sidewalks Poetry Project, a public art installation that brings poetry to sidewalks across the city while commemorating the historical significance of 28 Dallas locations.
- Two stanzas
- One blank line between each stanza
- Four lines in each stanza, with a maximum of 30 characters per line, including spaces
- Four words per line
- No title
Selected poems will be stamped onto freshly poured sidewalks throughout Dallas, giving residents the opportunity to leave their words in public spaces across Dallas.
The Office of Arts and Culture is currently working with the Dallas Department of Transportation and Public Works to finalize details for this year’s project. A date for the sidewalk installations has not yet been announced.
