In honor of National Recovery Month in September and North Texas Giving Day, Nexus Family Recovery Center’s Butterfly Campaign art installation is on display in Nordstrom Court in NorthPark Center.
“Every North Texas Giving Day donation made to Nexus will be represented by a butterfly and added to the dynamic art piece, creating a powerful visual of the community support surrounding women and families in recovery,” reads a press release.
Nexus raised $63,745 for North Texas Giving Day to fund “treatment, meals, diapers, hygiene products, prenatal transportation and therapeutic services for children.” The nonprofit in Far East Dallas provides specialized substance use disorder treatment as well as therapy services to women, including those who are pregnant or have children, who can accompany them into the treatment center and also receive care.
The installation will be on display until Wednesday, Sept. 30. Nexus will be tabling there Sept. 23, 26 and 30 to spread awareness about substance use disorder, how Nexus could help and the stories behind the butterflies.
