Hausfest is around the corner at Vector Brewing

In honor of Vector Brewing’s Oktoberfest celebration, Hausfest, the brewery will bring back its Cincinnati Sauerkraut Balls (pictured above) beginning Sept. 30.

The sauerkraut balls, made with sausage, sauerkraut and other ingredients, were a popular hit last year.

“We did them for one of our ticketed dinners and people loved them,” Veronica Bradley, co-owner of Vector Brewing, said. “The balls will be a little smaller for October.”

During Hausfest on Oct. 10, Vector Brewing will also offer kraut balls, giant pretzels with beer-cheese mustard, Strouderosa smoked brats on a stick and a pretzel plate with a smoked brat.

Later in October, the brewery will offer its Jalapeño Popper Pizza in honor of the State Fair of Texas.

Vector Brewing is also now available on DoorDash for breakfast, lunch and “linner,” which is served from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Monster Yogurt continues annual fundraiser for Dallas Art Therapy

Throughout October, Monster Yogurt will be raising money for Dallas Art Therapy through its Create-A-Monster campaign, in which children can color and decorate their own monsters for $1 each at checkout. All supplies will be provided at both the Casa Linda and Richardson locations.

Last year’s drive raised enough money for Dallas Art Therapy, which aims to expand access to art therapy to treat mental health issues, to purchase chairs and supplies, according to a press release.

”Create-A-Monster has always been about giving kids the freedom to imagine, create and feel proud of what they make,” Monster Yogurt founder Ava Skipworth said in the release. “We are excited to continue supporting Dallas Art Therapy and to welcome Moms Out Marketing as we make the 2026 campaign even more engaging for local families.”

A G.O.A.T. at Rodeo Goat

The Knighthood of the Brewers’ Paddle inducted Keith Schlabs, one of the owners/operators of Rodeo Goat and a Lakewood neighbor, during Belgium Beer Week in Brussels last month, according to a press release. Schlabs and other inductees were included in the parade at the event and in an official ceremony.

In addition to Rodeo Goat (in Casa Linda Plaza for our neighborhood), Schlabs and his partners Shannon Wynne and Larry Richardson own and operate Flying Saucer locations in multiple states, with the first being in Downtown Fort Worth.

“Nominated because of his 32-year relationship with craft beer and specifically the Belgian Breweries, Schlabs and Flying Saucer brewpubs have been strong supporters of Belgian beer and brewing culture since 1995 when the first location opened in Fort Worth’s Sundance Square,” reads the press release.
