Tickets are still available for Junius Heights’s Saturday Stroll and Historic Home Tour this weekend.

This is an annual event, but this year is special because it marks the 120th anniversary of the Junius Heights “land rush” in 1906, where 200 lots were sold in less than an hour, according to the historic district’s website. The neighborhood will also celebrate the grand opening of the William Lipscomb Elementary School garden and outdoor learning space.

In addition to the homes on display, the Saturday Stroll and Historic Home Tour features live music in Munger Park and on two neighborhood porches, plus refreshments, local vendors and family-friendly activities.

“Junius Heights is Dallas’ hidden gem,” said Sean McCort, Junius Heights Historic District president-elect, in a press release. “With more than 800 homes, we’re the largest historic district in Dallas and boast one of the southwest’s most remarkable collections of Arts and Crafts, Craftsman, Prairie and Tudor-style architecture. If you’ve never heard of us, this is the perfect time to discover what makes our neighborhood so unique.”

The festivities will go on from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 24. Admission for members is $25 and $30 for the general public, and they can be bought here. Day of tickets will also be available for $40 at Garden Cafe.
