At approximately 1 a.m. on Friday, July 10, Dallas Fire-Rescue responded to a 911 call regarding a structure fire at Cambridge Park Condominiums, located at 11490 Audelia Road.

Upon arrival, DFR reported fire coming through the roof of the three-story building, according to a press release. Attack teams moved in to fight the fire, but the fire was into advanced stages. A second DFR team was dispatched to the scene.

A third DFR team joined the scene as the roof of the building began to collapse into the third and second floors. Around 60-70 firefighters were on scene at this point.

At 10:08 a.m., overhaul companies were assigned to continue the process of putting out hot shots within the structure.

All residents were accounted for, allowing for an “Out Taps” to be declared at 10:45 a.m.

The majority of the estimated 45 residents have found alternate homes, with 13 residents along with two dogs and three cats being assisted and sheltered at the Lake Highlands Family YMCA at 8920 Stults Road by the American Red Cross and the Office of Emergency Management & Crisis Response.

There were no reported injuries. The cause of the fire is undetermined.
