The Lake Highlands brewpub is teaming up with Bill Oakley, former show runner of The Simpsons, for an American Culinary Curiosity Dinner featuring seven courses inspired by popular city-specific meals from across the United States on Sunday, July 19, and Monday, July 20.
Oakley, who is now pursuing a career in food and storytelling, created and will orchestrate the dinner series. The menu will include an amuse-bouche, two appetizers, soup, a palate cleanser, an entree and a dessert.
While guests will not know exactly what they are eating until dinner begins, they will experience a full evening of food and comedy.
During the meal, Oakley will share stories about the dishes, present videos and talk about the meaning behind each course.
“He reached out to us on our website. I couldn’t believe it,” said Veronica Bradley, co-owner of Vector Brewing. “In fact, I didn’t believe it. I had actually just watched a Simpsons documentary with him in it, so I thought friends were pranking me.”
In addition to the menu, Vector Brewing is creating a seven-drink pairing to accompany the meal.
