Most Dallas ISD students return next Tuesday, Aug. 11 and two resource events are happening Saturday, Aug. 8 to help Oak Cliff kids get prepared.
Prism Health North Texas (PHNTX) is hosting a free Healthy Start to School Bash from 9 a.m. to noon at the Oak Cliff Health Center.
Located at 219 Sunset Ave. Suite 116-A, the event will offer sports physicals, dental screenings, vaccine and general primary care appointment scheduling, haircuts, free backpacks with supplies for registered attendees and additional school supplies opportunities.
There will also be a chance to meet community partners with additional resources and giveaways, along with meeting PHNTX providers. The Healthy Start to School Bash is free and open to the public. Families are encouraged to register in advance here to help reserve a backpack and expedite check while supplies last.

Also happening from 9 a.m. to noon, For Oak Cliff will host the 12th annual Back to School Festival at 907 E. Ledbetter Drive.
Registration will begin on-site at 9 a.m. to attend for free school supply kits, free food trucks, arts and crafts, live performances, waterslide and bounce house, vendor village and more. Parking will be available on the football field.
