Chris Harrison’s The Vow

Depending on who’s telling the story, Chris Harrison’s departure from ABC’s The Bachelor was either the result of an unfortunate misunderstanding or a dramatic fall from grace. And Chris Harrison knows a little something about drama.

For 20 years, the Lake Highlands High School graduate and original host of The Bachelor led one of the most successful reality television series in history. Now he’s back with a new show called Chris Harrison’s The Vow. Can he — and his bevy of beauties seeking a hubby — pivot to FOX Nation and return to his former glory?

In promos for The Vow, an unidentified man steps over a wilted rose…and walks on, apparently an invitation for viewers to join Harrison as he moves on from The Bachelor and the show’s signature rose. Warner Bros., owner of The Bachelor franchise, issued a cease-and-desist order on October 1 to stop FOX Nation from airing The Vow. It’s unclear if the new dating reality show will debut as planned on November 11.

Harrison took the legal action in stride when he chatted with Entertainment Tonight (ET).

“As far as I can recollect, I don’t know of any other reality dating shows they’ve gone after,” Harrison said. “Is it coincidence that they just happened to be coming after (me)? I take it as a sign of respect.”

During the five years since he left The Bachelor, Harrison found true love of his own. He married former ET correspondent Lauren Zima, who is working with him to create the new show. Their updated concept, they say, involves more “authentic conversations” and fewer “elimination ceremonies.”

The first bachelor on The Vow is Jace Cates, a 30-year-old residential home loan officer from Oregon. He will spend time with 10 women instead of a larger group and will focus on faith, family and shared values before (hopefully) selecting his life partner. Meet the women here.

The Vow and other FOX Nation shows may be viewed online, through smart TVs and streaming devices or via mobile apps.
