Planning on donating school supplies? You could get a free burger out of it — or should I say, “Schmurger.”
Burger Schmurger diners who give $20 or more in supplies or a new backpack through Wednesday, Aug. 19 will be rewarded with a complimentary Schmurger. (One burger per guest per visit.) Donations, which can include new notebooks, folders, pencils, pens, crayons, markers, binders, glue sticks, scissors, tissues and hand sanitizer as well as backpacks, are expected to benefit East Dallas elementary and junior high schools.
“We’ve always believed Burger Schmurger is about more than burgers,” owner Dave Culwell said in a press release. “Our neighbors have supported us from day one, and this is our chance to give something back by helping local students head into the school year with the supplies they need. If we can fill backpacks while filling bellies, that’s a win for everyone.”
