Norma’s Cafe has filed for a certificate of occupancy at 9004 Garland Road in the same shopping strip as Bike Mart and Good Records.
The 70-year-old breakfast/comfort food restaurant that opened its original location in Oak Cliff would be moving into the former Dickey’s Barbecue Pit space, which was open for about 20 years before closing earlier this year, according to a Dallas Observer article.
The certificate of occupancy is currently in the inspection phase, according to City records online. Commercial work permits have also been filed.
There are several Norma’s Cafes around North Texas, including near The Shops at Park Lane, but this location would be the only one squarely within our East Dallas neighborhood.
Norma’s Cafe doesn’t appear to have announced this news on its Facebook or Instagram pages.
