Dallas-based real estate firm Onyx Legacy Group is planning to develop nearly 50 acres of wooded property off Coombs Creek Drive.
The development, tentatively coined The Community at Coombs Creek, has preliminary design plans for over 200 rental and for-sale properties, including single-family homes and the potential for townhomes. Prices are expected to start at the $400,000s.
Located at 2900 Coombs Creek Drive, the property could also see rental cottages as well. Those units are expected to be priced monthly “in the low to mid-$2,000s,” Onyx Legacy Group cofounder Mark Allen told The Dallas Morning News.
“A diverse population has diverse incomes, which equates to diverse housing needs. Some need homeownership; others need quality housing they can rent with less maintenance and upkeep,” Allen said in a press release.
Onyx is also working on another development near Paul Quinn College, Tabor Village, which is designed for low-income older adults and offers 229 units.
Development partners for the Coombs Creek property are currently under evaluation. Additional details, such as final pricing, unit counts and timeline, will be announced as the project moves forward, according to the release.
