Texas Women’s Foundation (TXWF) awarded $900,000 to support women and families across North Texas during a special celebration reception on Sept. 25.
Two special groups of supporters selected nonprofits to highlight through their annual giving and engagement, according to a press release. Shared Housing Center Inc. received $40,000 from Texas Women’s Foundation’s Board Alumnae through the Virginia B. Whitehill Endowed Fund. The TXWF Nineteen Network gave another $40,000 to The Family Place for its children’s educational services program.
Among the 25 grant recipients are Hope Cottage, Home Point, Juliette Fowler Communities, Literacy Achieves, Owenwood Farm and Neighbor Space and Prism Health North Texas, all of which are either based or have locations in East Dallas.
Since 1985, TXWF has invested $115 million in Texas women.
“These incredible nonprofit organizations are removing barriers for Texas women and their families and creating opportunities in the areas of health care, child care, education, workforce development and more,” TXWF president and CEO Karen Hughes White said in the press release.
