For 30 years, the DFW Hispanic 100 at the Texas Women’s Foundation has fostered leadership and service for the North Texas Latino community.

On Sept. 23, the organization’s annual awards gala celebrated the region’s most influential Latina leaders and marked a major milestone: the DFW Hispanic 100 Latina Giving Circle has surpassed $1 million in cumulative giving.

Through 217 grants since 2019, DFW Hispanic 100 has given to North Texas nonprofits that support Latina women, girls and families. This year, the Giving Circle has awarded 22 grants totaling $136,200, including Momentous Institute, which has a campus located on East 10th Street.

“Our greatest strength is proximity. We are women from this community investing in experienced nonprofit leaders who understand its needs and possibilities firsthand,” Yareli Esteban, co-chair of the Hispanic 100 Latina Giving Circle at TXWF, said in a press release. “We are not simply awarding grants; we are investing in the conditions that allow Latina women, girls and families to thrive, including expanding access to education and healthcare, strengthening economic security, developing leaders, creating safety from violence and advancing justice.”

In addition to celebrating the grant recipients, DFW Hispanic 100 recognized Dr. Elba Garcia at the 2026 Latina Living Legend and Dallas ISD Trustee Prisma Garcia as the 2026 Emerging Latina Leader Award (ELLA) recipient.

The inaugural Mujer de la Década Award, a new honor presented only at the organization’s 10-year anniversaries, was also presented, recognizing Dr. Gataline Garcia.
