Two teens have been charged with capital murder in the March 15 shooting deaths of two men at an apartment complex at Forest and Audelia. One of the suspects was also arrested in the fatal crossfire shooting of a bystander at Richand Trace Condominiums on June 16.

Erving Estrada, 17, and Latavien Clark, 19, were arrested on June 24 with support from the U.S. Marshals North Texas Fugitive Task Force. They were charged with shooting 21-year-old Madreus Ward and 20-year-old Ethan Dillard.

Dallas police said officers responded to calls about a shooting around 9:45 p.m. on March 15 at an apartment in the 12100 block of Audelia Road. When they arrived, they found Ward and Dillard inside a vehicle suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Both men were pronounced dead at the scene by Dallas Fire-Rescue.

According to an arrest affidavit, witnesses told investigators that they had seen Estrada, known by the nickname “Bando,” and Clark, aka “Gen5,” shortly before the shooting inside the vehicle with the victims. The shooters were known to spend time in the area, witnesses said.

Fingerprints found in the vehicle matched both suspects, according to the affidavit.

Estrada was also charged with shooting 35-year-old Ronnika Davenport. Davenport was apparently arriving home from work to her condo near Walnut and Audelia when she became the unintended victim of a grudge killing. According to police, a witness told detectives that “Bando” opened fire after accusing another man of mocking his deceased friend on social media. Davenport was struck several times and died at the hospital from her injuries.

Detectives identified Estrada via photographs showing a white Dodge Charger at the Richland Trace crime scene. When he was arrested, a handgun was recovered which matched shell casings from the scene, police say. Additional testing links the same gun to a third shooting on March 13.

The family of Ronnika Davenport described her as “a rare gem in life” and said she was “loved by many, lighting up every room she entered.”

“She was a mother, a daughter, a sister, and a friend,” the family wrote in a statement shared by Fox 4. “Her impact goes far beyond words can describe. Ronnika was a resilient, steadfast, and determined individual, no matter what she was facing. Always keeping a smile on her face. She is remembered by her loved ones as someone who is proof that you can defeat your odds and persevere.”

Both suspects are being held without bond in the Dallas County Jail. Anyone with additional information is encouraged to contact Detective F. Serra, Badge #10031, at 214-662-4552 or frank.serra@dallaspolice.gov.
