Lake Highlands High’s Parker Horton has been nominated as VYPE’s DFW Preseason Volleyball Middle Blocker of the Year, lauded along with 20 other elite athletes from across the metroplex. Teammate Lucy Holmes is nominated for her role as outside hitter on the team.
“I always look forward to season because it gives me the opportunity to compete alongside a great group of girls,” Horton told me. “We have been working really hard in the offseason and summer, and I am excited to see what we can accomplish together.”

“I love how LHVB constantly pushes me to be the best version of myself while creating such an uplifting environment,” Horton shared on social media. “It has given me countless unforgettable memories and introduced me to people I will cherish forever.”
The 6’1” senior says she’d love to turn back time and share a few tips with her ninth-grade self.
“If I could give freshman year me one piece of advice, it would be to make the most of every moment, because the time flies by faster than you think.”
