Oak Hill Academy received a $100,000 grant over the summer from the Hillcrest Foundation. The grant helped fund security measures at the school’s new high school campus, including perimeter fencing, cameras and badge entry access.
Oak Hill Academy’s focus is students from Pre-K through 12th grade who learn differently and need support and expertise found outside of mainstream classrooms. Their new high school campus features a renovated two-story educational building, expanded workplace skills training lab, student lounge for socializing, outdoor dining terrace and shaded recreational space with swings, lawn games and basketball court.
“The safety of our students and staff during the school day is paramount,” said Brit Smart, executive director of OHA. “We are grateful to Hillcrest Foundation for funding our high school campus’ security features, ensuring a safe learning environment for all.”
The Hillcrest Foundation was founded in 1957 by Mrs. W.W. Caruth, Sr., to provide financial support to qualified charitable organizations in Texas for the advancement of education, the promotion of health and the relief of poverty.
