The Math Science Technology (MST) Magnet Elementary school in Richardson ISD has been recognized as an Apple Distinguished School for the second time.
Apple Distinguished Schools are recognized for using Apple technology to foster creativity, collaboration and critical thinking. At MST, Apple technology is integrated into the school’s STEM-focused curriculum, with students having access to iPads and educational apps throughout their K-6 coursework.
MST is home to four Apple Distinguished Educators (ADE), a professional learning program that recognizes K-12 and higher education educators who use Apple technology to enhance learning. The school also has five Apple Learning Coaches who help teachers integrate Apple devices into their daily lessons.
“At MST, technology is a tool that empowers our students to create, collaborate, problem solve and bring their ideas to life,” MST Magnet Principal Dr. Lauren Bolack said. “Earning our second Apple Distinguished School recognition celebrates our teachers’ commitment to creating meaningful learning experiences and our students’ ability to dream, design and do.”
As students learn new concepts, they can select applications such as iMovie, Clips, Pages, Keynote, GarageBand, Numbers and AR Makr to complete assignments and demonstrate their learning.
MST was first recognized as an Apple Distinguished School for the 2022-25 period.
