Lawyers, don’t drink if you are in your own vehicle. Just don’t. It won’t end well. It hasn’t ended well several times this summer. Not only will something dumb happen, but because you are a lawyer, people will find out. They will write an article. They will read police reports. They will quote your late night ramblings.

This week, two East Dallas lawyers went off on some valet workers when their Mercedes wasn’t parked where they wanted it. Amy Witherite, a 50-year-old personal injury attorney who lives in Lakewood, and her wife, 56-year-old Barbara Witherite, went on a violent spree in Oak Cliff’s Bishop Arts District that left them charged with assault and taken to jail.

Amy yelled, “Where the [expletive] is my car” before punching a valet employee and smashing glass in another person’s face. Both women appeared drunk, according to witnesses. Barbara approached another man standing near the valet stand and asked, “Do you think that is funny?” before attacking him, the Dallas Morning News reports.

To their credit, they have owned and apologized for their behavior.

Earlier this summer, Texas State Representative Victoria Neave hit a tree near Lakewood, and was arrested for DWI, but not before she told the officer she loved him.

Later, Assistant District Attorney Leah Lucius crashed her car over the course of an entire block in Forest Hills, hitting trees, stop signs and neighbors’ gates in the process. She asked officers to give her a break, because she was their Facebook friend.

Don’t drink and drive, kids.
