Hollywood is coming to Preston Hollow later this week with Edgemere Senior Living’s 2nd Annual Film Festival.
In partnership with the Dallas International Film Festival, the senior living community will host free screenings in its Performing Arts Center, according to a press release.
From Thursday, Oct 22 through Saturday, Oct 24, the three-day festival will feature screenings of Miss Congeniality, 9 to 5 and Friday Night Lights. Following each screening, guests can hear from cast members and film experts during Q&A sessions.
Attendees can also enjoy red-carpet photo opportunities, music, refreshments, cocktails, giveaways and opportunities to meet featured guests.
“The Edgemere Film Fest celebrates aging as a vibrant, relevant and evolving experience — both on screen and in real life,” Jeff Amann, COO and president of Certus Living, said in a press release.
Thursday’s screening of Miss Congeniality will feature Farah White, who portrayed Miss Tennessee, and LeeAnne Locken, who portrayed Miss Nebraska, for a discussion about their experience making the 2000 comedy, the press release stated.
Friday’s screening of 9 to 5 will be followed by a discussion with Sean Griffin, an author and professor in Southern Methodist University’s Meadows Division of Film and Media Arts.
The festival will conclude Saturday with Friday Night Lights, followed by a Q&A with Brad Leland, who portrayed John Aubrey in the 2004 film and later played Buddy Garrity in the television series.
The festival is open to audiences of all ages. Each day, guest check-in begins at 12:30 p.m., followed by the film screening and Q&A from 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. A reception with cocktails and red-carpet photo opportunities will follow from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.
